A circa 1906 fine quality Austrian Order of the Iron Crown Third Class (Kaiserlicher Orden der Eisernen Krone); constructed of a Gold imperial double headed eagle, double hallmarked on the ring and below the crown "FR" (Rothe) and with Gemsenkopf mark for 18Kt. Gold; eagle with a shield on its chest in blue enamels and the letter “F”, with a crown in its talons in multicoloured enamels and with its magnetic interior ring within the crown; the reverse of the eagle with a second shield with “1815” within a bed of blue enamels; on loop for suspension with its period original trifold ribbon; measuring 55.6 mm x 29.5mm, of superb quality manufacture, in near mint condition.
Accompanied by its original case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper with a lightly textured brown faux leather (leatherette) exterior with “Österreichischer Kaiserlicher Orden der Eisernen Krone III Classe embossed in golden lettering on the outside lid; lined interior lid with “Rothe, Kohlmarkt 7, Hof-Goldarbeiter und Juwelier” embossed in golden lettering on the interior lid; recessed medal bed; functional spring catch with stud release with functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 124mm x 63mm; paper label dated "1906" at the bottom of the case; in very fine condition.
