Footnote: The Order of the Quetzal was established in 1936 and is bestowed by the Government of Guatemala, and is its highest honour. The award acknowledges officials of nations, organizations and other entities whose artistic, civic, humanitarian, or scientific works merit special recognition. It comes in six classes: Collar, Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
