Netherlands; Bronze, engraver marked "VDK" on the obverse, 29.8 mm, original ribbon, pitted, contact marks, very fine.

Footnote: The Medal was instituted by Royal Decree on June 27, 1831 and was awarded to Europeans and to native officers who served on Java during the war of 1825-1830, to put down the insurrection against the re-imposition of Dutch colonial rule. This was the first campaign medal issued by the Netherlands.
