An example of an“Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen” silver grade; oval shaped oak leaf wreath in silvered zink, with a national eagle clutching a swastika on the top and a bowtie on the bottom. Diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle; the reverse plain; with a vertical round wire pinback, a sheet metal hinge, and a crimped round wire catch; maker marked “R.S.” for “Rudolf Souval, Wien” on the reverse; measuring 46.86 mm x 61.25 mm; weighing 35.0 grams; with all of its original silver finish worn off, but with sufficient finish remaining to positively identify this as a silver grade Infantry Assault badge; in overall fine condition.
