Item #G34397
Measuring 450x540mm, 8 pages per issue on average, very fine condition with light fraying, partially broken along the folding creases, with small repairs. The copies are the issues of the Völkischer Beobachter (National Observer), Berlin issue, from March 15 to March 24, 1944, with the issue from March 22 missing. The cover stories, some spanning several issues, include: Goebbels speaking about the chances for a German victory on the anniversary of the Anschluss of Austria. Goebbels admits that not all German goals for the war have been reached, but more importantly none of the Allied goals against Germany were reached either, and Germany remains strong in defending its position.
Five years of German protectorate Bohemia and Moravia.
The Allies trying to pressure Ireland into giving up their neutrality, and the Soviet Union trying to pressure Finland into defecting from Germany.
The heroic defending of Monte Cassino by German Troops.
Several issues feature caricatures of daily life in the US made difficult by shortages of food, alcohol, and industrial goods.
All issues feature stories about battles and German victories, as well as the most recent Knight’s Cross recipients.
