Germany. A Luftwaffe Fallschirmjäger Badge by Steinhauer & Lück of Lüdenscheid

A fine example of a mid-war production Luftwaffe Paratrooper (Fallschirmjäger) badge; in rarely encountered silvered zink; the obverse consisting of a zink wreath of laurel and oak leaves with a gilt zink Type-B eagle superimposed on the badge; the reverse plain, but depicting two rivet holes that are soldered instead of riveted - a trademark of Steinhauer & Lück; vertical pinback, with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch; unmarked, but displaying the typical manufacturing characteristics of Steinhauer & Lück of Lüdenscheid; measuring 42.35 mm (w) x 52.99 mm (h); weighing 26.2 grams; in overall near mint condition.
