An example of a third reich period silver grade “Verwundetenabzeichen”; oval shaped silvered zink; the obverse pebbled with a Stahlhelm in the centre featuring a large mobile swastika on its side superimposed on crossed swords within a wreath of laurel leaves with a tied bow at the bottom; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, an integrated hinge, and an integrated catch; maker marked “127” for “Moritz Hausch A.G.”; measuring 36.71 mm (w) x 44.39 mm (h); weighing 25.3 grams; with all of its original silver finish worn off, but with sufficient silvering remaining to positively identify this as a silver grade wound badge; in overall better than fine condition.
