An example of a second war German “Panzerkampfabzeichen”; oval shaped silvered zink; the obverse with a border of oak leaves, with a tie at the base and a Panzerkampfwagen IV superimposed in the centre on a grassy ground, with the left tank track extending over the edge of the badge; the reverse plain, with a vertical needle style pin, sheet metal hinge, and round wire catch; measuring 42.19 mm (w) x 60.41 mm (h); weighing 18.0 grams; with all of its original silver finish lost through time, but with sufficient silvering remaining on the reverse to positively identify this as a silver grade tank badge; in overall better than fine condition.
