Great Britain. A Pair of Army Major-General's Shoulder Straps, c.1935

Great Britain; Upper in black wool, three sides trimmed in a 13 mm wide leafed patterned strip composed of fine gold-coloured bullion wire, silver General's insignia representative by a crossed sword and baton affixed in the centre, a pip in bronze gilt with red and green enamels and mounted to a silver base placed over the General's insignia indicating the rank of Major-General, a 15.5 mm two-piece constructed brass button at the neck end bearing a Field Marshal's crossed sword and baton within an open-ended wreath of laurel leaves insignia, maker marked "JENNENS & Co LONDON" on the reverse of both buttons, underside in black cotton, measuring approximately 57 mm (w) x 142 mm (h) each, the straps severed at the neck end, light contact on the General's crossed sword and baton insignia, the bullion wire free of fraying, near extremely fine.
