Germany. A 50-Year Civil Faithful Service Cross by Deschler & Sohn

An extremely well preserved example of a Faithful Service Cross for 50 Years of Service in its original case of issue; the cross constructed of silvered and gilt tombac constructed in the shape of a cross patte; the obverse with a gilt oak leaf wreath between the arms of the cross, with a static black enameled swastika in the center and the numeral “50” in gilt on the twelve o’clock arm; the reverse inscribed “Für treue Dienste” (German - For Loyal Services); on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon featuring a horizontally sewn-on pinback; measuring 41.37 mm (w) x 41.33 mm (h); weighing 23.3 grams. Accompanied by its original case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper, with a red faux leather (leatherette) exterior; the exterior of the lid embossed “50” within a three-quarter wreath; lined interior lid - embossed “Deschler & Sohn, München” in black ink, with a functional spring catch, intact interior fabric hinge cover, and a functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 50 mm (w) x 103 mm (h); in overall near mint condition.
