An example of a 1936 Berlin Olympics Bronze Commemorative medal; a round bronze medal; the obverse depicting the Olympic bell of the Olympic bell tower, circumscribed with “Olympische Spiele Berlin MCMXXVI”; the reverse depicting a Greek God holding a laurel stem in one hand and a laurel wreath in the other, circumscribed with “Zur Ehre des Vaterlandes - Zum Ruhm des Volkes” (German - To the Glory of the Fatherland - To the Glory of the People); the edge of the medal inscribed “Bayersiches Hauptmünzamt” (Bavarian State Mint); measuring 36.83 mm in diameter; weighing 22.8 grams. Accompanied by its original presentation box; constructed of cardstock, with a cream-coloured faux leather (leatherette) exterior; the exterior of the lid embossed “1936” with five interlocking rings in gold; with a lined recessed medal bed; measuring 52 mm (w) x 52 mm (h); weighing 22.9 grams; in virtually mint condition.
