A third reich period example of a RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst/National Labour Service) cap badge; in zink with a silver aluminum finish; the obverse with a painted red shovel with a central black mobile swastika; both prongs fully preserved on the reverse; marked “Ges. Gesch.” and “FW” likely for “F. W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid”, as well s “38” and “Mg” on the reverse; measuring 44.71 mm (w) x 37.21 mm (h); a worn example, with the majority of its original silver finish worn on the obverse, but very well preserved on the reverse; in overall near very fine condition.
