Germany. A Bronze Grade Horse “Driver” Badge by Christian Lauer

An example of a badge for the driver of horse-drawn wagons; a oval bronze badge; consisting of an oak wreath with a manned chariot being pulled by two horses in the centre of the badge, and “R” for “Reiter” on the bottom of the badge; the reverse plain; with a vertical pinback, a barrel hinge, and a flat wire catch; maker marked “L. Chr. Lauer, Nürnberg-Berlin” on the reverse; measuring 40.25 mm (w) x 50.55 mm (h); in overall better than very fine condition.
