A well preserved and period example of this desirable Imperial Reichsmarine Naval ensign; constructed of a large sheet of hessian burlap (a fine quality weave of burlap), depicting the German Imperial eagle within a circle, with black cross arms on all sides of the eagle, along with a tricolour German Imperial flag in the top left square of the flag, with an Iron Cross superimposed in black on its surface; the hoist edge featuring a dual-ply cotton bunting with a small tunnel looped suspension rope, with looped ropes on either side of the hoist edge; measuring 88 cm x 166 cm; with light rips and tears throughout as expected from a used example, but overall extremely fine condition.
