Item #W5080
Issued 1858-1935. A silver medal with crisp detailing and a fine striking, unmarked, measuring 42.52 mm (h) inclusive suspended shield, with wide suspension bar, near mint condition.
Footnote: The Medal for Its Loyal Defenders was authorised by Francisco Mozarán in 1839, presumably awarded to the military personnel who defeated an invading army of Guatemala and Nicaragua on September 25, 1839. The medal was first issued 19 years later and designed by the French engraver Narcís Perafita.
