Germany. A Mint 5th Class German Eagle Order with Swords by Zimmermann

A very fine quality example of a German Eagle Order with Swords “Deutscher Adlerorden V. Klasse mit Schwertern) by a well-known maker; multi-piece construction; Maltesian cross in gilt bronze and extremely well preserved white enamels; with four national eagles “Hoheitszeichen” between the arms of the cross; on a loop for suspension; with a correct replacement ribbon; unmarked, but displaying the typical characteristics of Zimmermann manufacture; measuring 45.13 mm (w) x 45.06 mm (h); weighing 28.8 grams; refinished gilt and therefore in near mint condition.
