Italy (Kingdom); Die-stamped bronze with navy blue enamels, unmarked, 49 mm (w) x 61 mm (h), die-holes at all four points for uniform attachment, intact enamels, green oxidation evident on the reverse, light contact, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The 20th Infantry Division Friuli was formed on August 24, 1939 by renaming the existing 20th Infantry Division Curtatone and Montanara. The division was immediately split to create the 44th Infantry Division Cremona. It was a reserve force in the Valle Germanasca and Pellice valleys during the Italian invasion of southern France in June 1940.
