Germany. A Second War Period Silver Grade Infantry Assault Badge

A second war German “Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen” silver grade; oval shaped oak leaf wreath in silvered zink, with a national eagle clutching a swastika on the top and a bowtie on the bottom. Diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle; the reverse plain; with a vertical round wire pinback, a sheet metal hinge with a missing through-pin currently replaced by wire, and a crimped round wire catch (bent - slightly fragile); unmarked; measuring 47.47 mm x 62.20 mm; weighing 26.1 grams; in overall better than fine condition.
