FENIAN RAID 1866 (Pte. J. Blackwood, Rockburn I. Co.). Naming is officially impressed. Replacement ribbon, dark patina on the obverse and edge, edge nicks, near extremely fine.

 

Footnote: Private John Blackwood is shown on the roll of the 21 man Rockburn Infantry Company and is listed on page 245 of the "Canada General Service Medal Roll, 1866-70" by John Thyen, entitled to the Fenian Raid 1866 clasp. He is documented on the roll as having been posted on March 10th, April 29th, and from June 1 to 17 to Huntingdon, Quebec, with an "Attack Expected at Trout River Lines".
