A mint cased example of a Border Protection (Zollgrenzschutz) long service award; in bronze; in the form of a cross pattee; the obverse with a stylized open-ended oak wreath with a German eagle superimposed in the centre; the reverse inscribed “Für treue Dienste im Zollgrenzschutz” (German - For Loyal Services in the Protection of the Border) within a similar stylized open-ended oak wreath; on loop for suspension; with its mint cornflower-blue ribbon; unmarked; measuring 42.37 mm (w) x 41.96 mm (h); weighing 22.1 grams. Accompanied by its period original presentation case of issue; constructed of cardstock with a green faux leather (leatherette) exterior; with its exterior leatherette hinge fully preserved; measuring 51 mm (w) x 104 mm; in overall mint condition.
