Germany. An Early General Assault Badge by an Unknown Maker

A second war German “Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen”; oval stamped silvered bronze; with an oak leaf border and a pair of acorns at the base, with a large Wehrmacht-style eagle with folded wings clutching a mobile swastika, and a crossed bayonet and stick grenade in the centre; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, and a functional hinge/catch assembly; measuring 41.24 mm (w) x 52.58 mm (h); weighing 12.8 grams; light loss to the original silver finish; in overall better than very fine condition.
