Germany. A Bronze Grade Tank Badge by Unknown Maker A.S., Type II

A second war German “Panzerkampfabzeichen”; oval shaped bronzed feinzink; the obverse with a border of oak leaves with a tie at the base and a Panzerkampfwagen IV superimposed in the centre on grassy ground, with its left tank track extending over the edge of the badge; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, a crimped ball hinge, and a crimped round wire catch (previously repaired); maker marked with the stylized logo of “A.S” on the reverse; measuring 42.66 mm (w) x 62.80 mm (h); weighing 20.5 grams; in overall better than very fine condition.
