An example of a Silver Grade Infantry Assault Badge (Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber); consisting of an oval shaped oak leaf wreath in silvered zink, with a national eagle clutching a swastika on the top and a bowtie on the bottom; with a Karabiner 98k diagonally across the badge, with a bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle; the reverse plain; with a vertical round wire pinback, a sheet metal hinge, and a round wire catch; maker marked “S.H.u.Co 41” for “Sohni Heubach & Co.” and “1941” manufacture; measuring 47.00 mm (w) x 61.64 mm (h); weighing 30.9 grams; with approximately 70% of its original silver finish remaining; in overall very fine condition.
