In silver gilt with red and white enamelled insignia, mounted to a ten-pointed star base, hallmarked on the reverse, measuring 36.7 mm (w) x 64.7 mm (h) inclusive of its wreath suspension, large rosette on its original ribbon, chipping evident in the white enamels on the star point at 1 o'clock, better than very fine.
Footnote: The Order of Independence (Wisam al-Istiqial) is the fourth knighthood order of the Kingdom of Jordan. It was instituted in 1921 by Emir Hussein bin Ali, Sharif of Mecca, and is awarded in five grades: Grand Cordon, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight, plus a medal.
