A Wehrmacht Heer (Army) EM/NCO’s standard issue belt buckle; constructed of olive drab metal (magnetic); the obverse depicting a raised field with a national eagle clutching a mobile swastika in its talons, surrounded by two ropes inscribed “Gott Mit Uns” (German - God with Us) on the top half, and two oak twigs on the bottom half that are tied together with a ribbon; the reverse with a standard catch and double-prong crossbar; marked “1941” on the reverse along with faint, illegible maker marks directly above the date; measuring 64 mm (w) x 49 mm (h); with a brown leather tab attached to the buckle, marked “Franke & Co, 1941”; a worn example, slightly bent; in overall better than fine condition.
