Measuring 209x169mm, extremely fine condition with minimal fraying. It is bilingual, Croatian and German. The certificate states that Oberfeldwebel (Master Sergeant) Max Piranty, a platoon leader in the 10th Company of Infantry Regiment 383 (Croatian), fighting Yugoslavian partisans, has been awarded the Eiserne Zvonimir-Medaille am Kriegsband (Iron Zvonimir Medal with War Ribbon) on September 9, 1943. It carries another, Croatian stamp from January 8, 1944. Piranty, a capable instructor, played a crucial part in an attack on a partisan training camp on July 9, 1943 near Rogolj-Psunj in which the Germans were able to obtain important documents and supplies.
