(1870-1951); Badge: Gold with blue, white, red and green enamels, weighing 25.7 grams, marked with an eagle's head on the tip of the ribbon on the reverse, 40 mm (w) x 58.5 mm (h) inclusive of its wreath and ball suspension, large rosette on its original ribbon, suspended from a silver bar with ball finials at either end, chipping evident in the white enamels on the star points on both sides; and Breast Star: Silver, marked with a boar's head on the pin, 89.5 mm (w) x 89 mm (h), vertical pinback, replacement catch, missing one of its stays, centrepiece bearing the head of Marianne slightly loose. Better than very fine. In their hardshelled case of issue, marked "R.F." (République Français) on the lid, maker marked "Arthus Bertrand Béranger & Magdelaine PARIS" on the inside lid, recessed and slotted medal beds, scuffing evident on the exterior, small stain on the inside lid, case also better than very fine.
