France; Silver, hallmarked on the reverse of the integral suspension, engraver marked "BARRE" on the obverse, 30.5 mm, replacement ribbon, moderate surface wear evident on the obverse, edge nicks, bruised, very fine.


Footnote: The medal was instituted by Imperial Decree of August 11, 1859 and awarded to the soldiers of the Army of Italy and sailors who participated in the French war against Austria, allied to Sardinia, that was a major step towards the unification of Italy.
