In gilt bronze, red and white enamels; consisting of a double headed eagle clutching a horizontally position sword in its talons, with a Seipel cross superimposed on its chest; two small pins on the reverse - short due to being partially broken off; unmarked; measuring 70 mm (w) x 74 mm (h); in overall better than very fine condition.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
