c. 1944. (Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber). An oval shaped oak wreath in silvered zink, with a national eagle clutching a swastika on the top and a bowtie on the bottom. Diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle; the reverse plain; with a vertical round wire pinback, with an integrated hinge, and catch; marked “3” for “F.W. Assmann, Lüdenscheid” on the reverse; measuring 47.12 mm (w) x 60.75 mm (h); weighing 24.1 grams; in overall better than very fine condition.
