Germany. A Wound Badge, Gold Grade, by the Official Vienna State Mint

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of oval shaped gilded tombac; the obverse pebbled, with a Stahlhelm in the centre featuring a large mobile swastika on its side superimposed on crossed swords within a wreath of laurel leaves with a tied bow at the bottom; the reverse plain with a vertical tapered pinback, with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch; marked “30” for the Official Vienna State Mint; measuring 36.32 mm (w) x 43.83 mm (h); weighing 36.3 grams; in overall better than very fine condition.
