Constructed of gilded and silvered zink; partially hollow; the obverse constructed of an oval laurel wreath, with a national eagle perched on the top of the badge clutching a mobile swastika, with a side-view of a destroyer cutting through a wave, with the bow of the ship extending over the wreath; plain reverse, with a vertical wire pinback, a sheet metal hinge and a round wire catch; unmarked; measuring 44.70 mm (w) x 57.00 mm (h); weighing 30.3 grams; with some of its original gilt and silver finish worn off, but in overall near extremely fine condition.
