Germany. A RAD Standard Issue Belt Buckle, by Berg & Nolte, c. 1936

(Reichsarbeitsdienst Koppelschloss Gürtelschnalle). Constructed of aluminum; the obverse consisting of a pebbled field, with a central raised field depicting a spade with a mobile swastika on the blade, surrounded by a circular field decorated with five wheat stalks; the reverse hollow, with an integrated hinge and a standard double-claw bar; marked “B&N, 1936” on the reverse; with its original thick and dark brown leather tab; marked “Berg & Nolte, 1936” on the reverse; measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h); lightly miss-shaped; in overall extremely fine condition.
