Germany. An Order of the German Eagle, Breast Star to the Merit Cross, by Godet & Co.

(Bruststern zum Verdienstkreuz des Ordens vom Deutschen Adler). Issued 1939-1943. A six-pointed silver star with a silver gilt Maltese star with white enameled arms attached to the obverse, with partially enameled national eagles between the arms of the cross; the reverse plain, with two rivets, with a vertical pinback, and a functional hinge/catch assembly; marked “900” for silver content” and “21” for “Grebrüder Godet & Co., Berlin”; measuring 65.84 mm (w) x 75.97 mm (h); weighing 50.8 grams; in overall extremely fine condition.
