Germany. A Carpathian-German Distinguished Service Decoration

(Karpatendeutsche Ehrenzeichen). Constructed in highly polished silvered bronze; in the shape of a swastika, with a Sudeten Party insignia fastened to the centre, with an open-ended oak wreath tied together at the base fasted onto the badge via two pins visible on the reverse; with a vertical pinback; measuring 58.32 mm (w) x 58.38 mm (h); weighing 27.5 grams; in overall extremely fine condition.

Footnote: This award was instituted by the head of the German racial group for distinguished service. The Carpathian Germans are a group of Ethnic Germans who live in present day Slovakia.
