Anhalt, Duchy. A House Order of Albert the Bear, Silver Merit Medal

(Hausorden Albrecht des Bären Silberne Verdienstmedaille). Issued 1904-1918. A round silver medal; the the obverse displaying a crowned bear walking on-top of a fortress wall, circumscribed “Fürchte Gott und Befolge seine Befehle” (German - Fear God and obey his commands); the reverse depicting the Anhalt coat of arms and inscribed “Abrecht der BaerReg: 1123-1170”; suspended from a loop for suspension; measuring 32.08 mm in diameter; weighing 13.8 grams; in overall extremely fine condition.
