(Infantrie-Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, with a national eagle clutching a swastika on the top and a bow-tie on the bottom. Diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle; the reverse plain; with a vertical round wire pinback, a crimped barrel hinge, and a crimped flat catch; maker marked “R.R.S.” on the reverse, and displaying all of its typical manufacturing characteristics; measuring 48.77 mm (w) x 62.46 mm (h); weighing 34.6 grams; with all of its silver finish worn off, but with enough remaining to positively identify this badge as a silver grade infantry assault badge; in overall near very fine condition.
