(Magyar Szent Korona Rend). A silver gilt Latin cross with white enameled arms, with crossed swords and a green enameled laurel wreath between the arms; the obverse with an unusual central red enameled medallion depicting a silver gilt Hungarian crown, surrounded by a laurel wreath with berries; the reverse plain, with four visible rivets, and a vertical pinback, with a functional hinge/catch assembly; marked “1942” on the reverse; measuring 54.47 mm (w) x 51.39 mm (h); weighing 41.2 grams; the enamels of the three o’clock arms previously repaired; in otherwise near extremely fine condition.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps.
