Médaille de la Campagne d'Italie. Instituted in 1859. In silver, engraver marked "BARRE" on the obverse, hallmarked with an eagle's head on the reverse of the integral suspension, measuring 30.5 mm in diameter, light contact, original ribbon, near extremely fine.

Footnote: The medal was instituted by Imperial Decree of August 11, 1859 and awarded to the soldiers of the Army of Italy and sailors who participated in the French war against Austria, allied to Sardinia, that was a major step towards the unification of Italy.
