China-Denkmünze. Instituted in 1901. In silver, measuring 32.5 mm in diameter, replacement ribbon, extremely fine.
The China Medal was a medal of the German Empire and established on May 10, 1901 by Kaiser Wilhelm II, in his capacity as King of Prussia and German Kaiser. There were three versions of the medal: in bronze for combatants, in silver and in steel, both for non-combatants. The initial design came from Wilhelm II himself and was executed by professor Walter Schott. The medals were produced by the company Mayer & Wilhelm in Stuttgart.
