(Triju Zvaigžņu ordenis). Instituted 1924. A five armed silver star with faceted finishings, obverse centre with blue enamel with three Gold stars, a silver gilt surround with Motto "Par Tēviju" (For Fatherland) and laurels, reverse with dual stays and pin assembly, makers marked with back plate ORDENU FABRIKA, RIGA LATVIJA, W.F.MULLER and WM on reverse 12 o'clock arm, well silver hallmarked with silver purity mark 875 with female head with Latvian Crown used between 1920-1939, as well as Latvia Assay mark on both arm and pin (1920-1939), measuring 77 mm (w) x 73 mm (h), extremely fine.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
