Instituted 1951. King Idris. Sash badge of the order in silver with ten rays, alternating between silver and silver gilt, obverse centre applique consisting of red and green enamels with crescent moon and star at centre, reverse hallmarked on 11 o'clock arm and centre with Arabic date letter (1951-53) as well as Arabic hallmark denoting 800 silver content, measuring 61 mm (w) x 61 mm (h), with elongated silver gilt suspension loop, with enamel loss to green surround, on fine original sash, good/fine. Accompanied by the star of the order consisting of ten alternating silver and silver gilt rays, both smooth and faceted arms, obverse centre with green and red enamels, bronze gilt crescent moon with star, reverse with pin assembly, hallmarked on centre and 3 o'clock arm with Arabic date letter (1951-53) as well as Arabic hallmark denoting 800 silver content, measuring 86 mm (w) x 89 mm (h), with green enamel loss to obverse centre, near very fine.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps.
