A Maltese cross in silvered tombac; the obverse pebbled, with a circular raised border of oak leaves on the obverse with a raised mobile swastika in the center; the reverse plain, with a vertical full banjo style pinback, with a barrel hinge, and a rounded catch; unmarked; measuring 48.66 mm (w) x 48.54 mm (h); weighing 17.4 grams. Accompanied by its presentation case of issue; constructed of heavy cardstock, with a lightly textured faux leather (leatherette) exterior; the exterior with an embossed outline of a War Merit Cross without Swords; with a lined interior lid, a recessed medal bed, an intact interior fabric hinge cover, a functional spring catch with stud release, and a functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 67 mm (w) x 67 mm (h); in overall mint condition.
