Germany. A Wound Badge, Gold Grade

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of gilded zink; the obverse pebbled with a Stahlhelm in the centre featuring a large mobile swastika on its side superimposed on crossed swords within a wreath of laurel leaves with a tied bow at the bottom; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, an integrated hinge, and an integrated catch; measuring 36.64 mm (w) x 44.09 mm (h); with the majority of its original silver finish worn off, but with sufficient gilt remaining to positively identify this as a gold grade wound badge; in overall fine condition.
