Württemberg, Kingdom. An Order of the Württemberg Crown, Knight’s Cross

(Orden der Württembergischen Krone, Ritterkreuz). A Maltese cross in silver gilt; the obverse with a circular central white enameled medallion with a silver gilt Württemberg crown, with a bed of white enamels, surrounded by a ring of red enamels with silver gilt lettering reading “FURCHTLOS UND TREW” (German - Fearless and Loyal); the reverse with a circular central white enameled medallion, with a silver gilt crowned cipher of King Friedrich I within a bed of white enamels, surrounded by a ring of red enamels and inscribed as the ring on the obverse; measuring 37.85 mm (w) x 42.83 mm (h); weighing 13.6 grams; light cracking on the bottom arm of the three o’clock arm; in overall near very fine condition.
