Lübeck, Free City. A Hanseatic Cross
(Hanseatenkreuz). Issued 1915-1918. Constructed of silvered bronze, with red enameled arms; the obverse with a center medallion depicting a silvered Lübeck coat of arms; the reverse inscribed in the centre with “Für Verdienst im Kriege 1914” (For Merit in War 1914); on loop for suspension; measuring 40.12 mm (w) x 40.00 mm (h); weighing 18.0 grams; in overall extremely fine condition.
