United States. A First War Victory Medal Ribbon Bar with Seven Bronze Stars

Item #M0215-50

$60

Multi-color cloth ribbon with seven bronze stars affixed, 36 mm (w) x 13.5 mm (h), horizontal pinback, extremely fine.

Footnote: The bronze stars signify the number of battle clasps the recipient was entitled to wear on his Victory Medal. Since no infantry division qualified for more than six during the war, medals and ribbon bars with seven or more were usually earned by the Transportation Corps. There were some Engineer units, Telegraph and Signal Units, and other Specialized Units that qualified for some unique clasp combinations, but they were the exception rather than the rule.
