Germany, Wehrmacht. An Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade
(Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber). An oval shaped oak leaf wreath in silvered zink, with a national eagle clutching a swastika on the top and a bowtie on the bottom. Diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle; the reverse plain; with a vertical round wire pinback, a crimped ball hinge, and a crimped round wire catch; measuring 47.16 mm (w) x 62.57 mm (h); weighing 19.0 grams; with all of its original gilt worn off, but with enough remaining on the reverse of the pin to positively identify this badge as a silver grade infantry assault badge; in overall fine condition.
