(Wehrmacht Fernmeldetruppe Schiffchen). Constructed of field gray wool, with fold down side and back panels with gently sloping, downward scallops to the front, along with a single enameled rivet on either side of the cap for air circulation. The front of the cap features a machine embroidered, Wehrmacht eagle, constructed of grey machine embroidery in the shape of a national eagle with open wings clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. Directly below is a bright lemon-yellow soutache with a machine embroidered tri-colour cockade directly beneath. Both the eagle and the cockade are hand stitched into place. The interior of the cap is fully lined in olive green fabric - marked “53” for size, as well as “AGO Breslau 1940” in black ink. The cap measures 260 mm (w) x 107 mm (h). A gently worn example in overall better than very fine condition.
