A grouping of five Austrian and German cap badges and pins, consisting of 1) A 1916 Naval Rememberance Day Badge; in gilt zink; maker marked “Deschler & Sohn, München” on the reverse; horizontal pinback; measuring 32 mm (w) x 26 mm (h). 2) A Rememberance Day Badge; in zink; vertical pinback; measuring 27 mm (w) x 36 mm (h). 3) A 1915-1916 Commemorative Badge; horizontal pinback27 mm (w) x 36 mm (h). 4) A Veteran’s Aid Association Badge; in gilt zink; vertical pinback; measuring 25 mm (w) x 36 mm (h). 5) A 1914-1916 War Veteran’s Aid Badge; in metal (magnetic); horizontal pinback; measuring 25 mm (w) x 31 mm (h). In overall better than fine condition.

 

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
